Torque Specs for 2004 Cavalier?
Tuesday, May 17, 2016 2:37 PM
Hello,
I'm the new guy here. I was wondering if you guys could help provide me with some torque specs for my 2004 Cavalier. My friend and I are replacing the tie rods (inner and outer) on my car and I can't seem to find the torque specs for those parts. I would buy the service manual but I don't have time for it to get here so I was hoping for some quick answers.
Thanks in advance!
Cody Smith

Dude is this Cody Smith from York County, PA area?

Go to a local advance/autozone and snoop through one of the service manuals they have for our car on the shelf and find the info you need and put it back

That's great, there's a guy by me with a cavalier with the same exact name. But yeah that's what I've always done until I just bit the bullet and bought the dang book lol

I have never torqued tie rods to spec in my life. However, according AllData, specs are as follows:

Inner: 74 ft. lb.
Outer ball stud nut: 33 ft. lb.
Jam nut: 55 ft. lb.
