Tuesday, March 15, 2005 7:09 PM
anyone know what they cost for a 2k z
what brands i can choose from (ive only read about gabriel)
if its possible to swap the bearings inside from the 95-99 style into a 2k or is the whole sturt mount assembly required for that
if the bearings will eliminate the clunk noise i get

if there is a post that has all this info jsut post the link and lock this please

Straight from GM they cost about 160$ CAD each side for a 97 z . Not sure the bearings are servicable, think they might just come as a unit...

Just did mine the other day, found that the car was always pulling to the direction last turned, both bearings were jammed solid. That was on top of the clunking...

KYB makes a set, used them when I lowered my car and I'm happy with them. I used the SM5142s rather than the SM5283s, that way I can replace the bearing if it goes out rather than the whole mount. The rears are part number SM5147 for all years.
