Power Window Problem, Need Help, Working on it Now
Saturday, March 19, 2005 11:00 AM
I'm working on my car and have the door disassembled but I can't quite figure out the problem. My driver side window in my 02 Cavalier LS Sport seems to be stuck up. It makes the same sound when i press to move it up (even though it is already up) as does the fully functioning passenger window, which means the motor isn't completely dead. When I press to make the window go down however, there is no response at all. So like I said I have the door taken apart now and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on how to locate the problem or maybe as to what it exactly is.

I am having the same problem in mine.

I think there's a problem with the switch though, not the motor or anything like that.

I can roll it down from the center console, but not roll it up.

And I can roll it up from the back window, but not from the center console.

It's my rear driver window.

Yeah, my guess is the switch itself. I took it apart and there is a small circuit board which I'm guessing has gone bad, at least in the function of rolling down the drivers side window. I couldn't find the part online so I think I may just go to the dealer and buy a new one. If anyone else has suggestions or ideas let me know

Check to see if the motor is getting proper voltage when you press the switch.
If not trace it back to the switch. But first check the motor voltage.
