I threw a rod in my 98 cavy with the 2.2 and now am looking to swap out the engine. I was wondering how hard it would be to swap in the 2.2 ecotec. what exactly would i need to change (pcm, tranny, etc.)? Would it be easier to just put in the 2.4 from another 98? any help would be appriciated.
i think it's easier to put an ecotec one and more safe because gm had big problems about 2.4L. However, 2.4L is more powerful with 160hp. it's your choice. If you do it for more power and If your motor is not dead, you could add a turbo easily because of the shape of the motor. It's your choice.
