does anyone know why my eco would backfire? also i have had a on and off problem with my car dying at an idle, if anyone could help me with either problem i would appreciate it

Extremely rich A/F ratio. Bad timing. Get a check engine light yet?

nope no light yet, it tends to backfire when i let off the gas in gear and i let the rpm's wind down

Maybe you have a sticky injector. Loads up with fuel.
