low engine coolant light on???
Monday, March 28, 2005 10:42 PM
So my engine check light was on and i noticed that my fan would not turn off so i figured the thermostat went out. So i put a new one in and then both check engine light and low engine coolant light are on. So i take it to autozone to check the code at my O2 sensor is out. I get that replaced and the check engine light goes away and the fan works properly know. But the engine coolant light is still on. So i replace the ect sensor but it stll does not go away. Can you guys help me out?

An issue for me was that the rad hose was being constricted by my intake(2.3) Make sure it's wide open, but other than that Idk

could be airlocked (have an air bubble in it) let the car cool off, and pop the radiator cap and let it warm up until the cooling fan comes on, and fill it back up if necessary, and put the cap back on and see if it went away..had a similar problem with a VW Golf that did almost that same exact thing, and what i said to do fixed it. hope it helps...

The sensor could be sticking.
Give it a few sharp taps with a wooden hammer handle, just don't break anything.

when my water pump went out (2.2) the low coolant light & CEL would come on randomly when i accelerated from a stop. However, it sounds like a stuck sensor or even an air pocket in the coolant line. There is a bleed screw on the front of the 2.2 engine just too the left of the dipstick. ONLY bleed this small nut when the engine is cool!!!!!!! Or u can just take it to a GOOD mechanic and let them deal w/ it

don't go home mad, just go home
