im just gonna cut to the chase...has anyone ever tried to swap motors from a cavalier rental car (eco for a newer eco)..i was thinking about that when my uncle from the states came to visit and he had 22,000 miles on his rental car eco...just a thought..BTW..do the rental cars have protection on their engines to keep it from being swapped.?

Did your parents drop you on your head when you were younger or something???

If that was a thought you had, I don't think i want to even know what else is going on in your head

think for a second aboot what people do to rentals, yeah i know not all of them or maybe not you but seriously think what that poor cav has put up with in 22,000 mi short life. would you really want that in your car? hell i won't even buy a pre leased vehicle due to some of the asshats that i know and the modified lease maintenance schedule. yes i know that this may not be the majority but when it comes to my transportation i would rather be safe than @!#$. and why the hell would you ask here, did you put an add in the classifieds too?

run a good synthetic oil not 5w-30 at least 10w-30 and change your oil often and miles should never really be a issue. Late motel motors should thats longer then the rest of the car, so who really cares about miles. Thats my professional opinion

I thought about swapping exhausts from my 00 Z24 and a 03 Sunfire Rental w/ duals....

Thought about it. Then decided that prison was not for me.

Good try though.

people think that if they pay the extra $12 insurance, that they can do anything to that car and not be held responsible. i was given a rental car when my car was getting the tranny replaced. whcih came four days later than promised. i did things that i would never attempt with my own vehicle. its was only the second time that i had been in an air born vehicle. we found some hilly backroads and went hill-hopping, im glad the rental guy didnt look under the car he would have seen more srapes than should be on any car. i hated that car. i went from my modded ecotec to an old cavy w/a 2200. and it was SLOW. when i dropped that car offf it didnt idle right anymore. i will not buy a used rental vehicle or a leased deal either. i know what people like me will do

Well if the engines are the exact same except for vin's, i dont see why not. Its possible to say take a lower milage one, but i wouldnt suggest it. Let me try it first.
