I'm not aware of anyone that makes a REAL shiftkit for the 4t40e, but you can accomplish almost the same thing with something like the autotrans interceptor or B&M shiftplus. The two things I mentioned trick your computer into increasing line pressure which reduces shift times.

my buddy has a shift kit in his auto monte carlo ss 1987. Shifts fast as hell when he first got it. But over time, it has loosen up slowly, and doesnt shift as fast. With a shift kit in an auto, it will shift fast then any human can . It might annoy you how hard to shifts though.

Type "F" fluid will give more firm shifts. (its "ford" trans fluid) and has different friction or lubrication qualities than dextron. its an old rodders trick that if you wanted more firm solid shifts to use Type F Trans fluid.

Dextron will let the bands in the trans slip alot more causing the "granny shifts" where as the Type-F is less "slippery" and allows for the bands to "GRAB/RELEASE" faster.
