Motor swap

Ok, im just 17 years old so excuse me for my stupidity. I have a 95 sunfire, 2.2 stock 3 speed automatic. I am very interested in the new ecotec motor an was wondering if anyone could help me with this process. My car already has major body mods http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/658091 if anyone would like to see it. But iv already found the donor car its a 2003 cavalier with an ecotec with a 5 speed tranny. I would appreciate it greatly if anyone could tell me some hints or tips and if anyone has made this switch that may know a thing or two about it. Thanks alot. Also does anyone know anything about the rksport turbo or where i could find a turbo for an ecotec an what other motor mods must be done to support the turbo...Thanks

SunCavi can help you with the eco + 5speed conversion as he has done it. It is a MAJOR job and requires $$$$$$$$$.

You need all the parts from the donor car...ECU, wiring harness, engine, tranny, shifter, console, etc...

It would be cheaper and easier for you to put in a 2.3 HO 5spd than an Ecotec.

Just my 2 cents

Doing the swap isnt fun at all. Make sure you have a great welder to weld in the trasmission brackets. Im doing the swap as we speak suncav gave me tips (thanks) dont let anybody on the org give you @!#$ about doing the swap if you really want it do it i'm almost done all i have left is wiring but as far as tips you will be best to ask questions when you get to a part where you may get stuck i went from a 2.2 3spd to the infamous 2.2ecotec 5spd i'll show pics when im done.

my advice to you, is to do the 2.3 HO swap. there is plenty more years of experience and knowledge with those motors, as well as an entire plethora of parts... plus it's basically a straight drop-in and has more power stock. get yourself a 2.3 DOHC Quad 4, order a pair of the W41-profile cams, do a header, exhaust, blah blah, but my best advice on keeping that motor running after the swap, is a cometic head gasket because stock... they blow.

the 2.3 W41 has 50 more HP stock.. the 2.3 HO has 40 more HP.. and will be an easier and cheaper swap. not drop in but easier than an eco by a long shot
