Where can i find an aluminum head for a 1999 cavalier 2.4??

why do u want one? a little weight reduction and it gets hot faster, get ur stock one port and polished, will be hell of a lot cheaper than a whole new aluminum head

Or maybe the stock heads are cast aluminum? I might have heard something to that effect... Hmm... Ok, I don't know then

i think stock ones are cast aluminum. i think.

Yep stock heads are Cast Aluminum. I think the blocks are too... but im not sure about the blocks, but i do know that the heads are for sure.

Ecotec Block is Alum. 2.4L is not.

Both heads are alum.

wow. The head is aluminum on all 2.4L, and the block is steel.

Only Ecotecs are all aluminum.

block is iron. head is aluminum. this is true for pretty much all GM for the last 15 years except for the ecotec, northstar, and you few lucky punks with a ZR-1

geez. alot of people guessing on the info here. if you dont know, its not going to help to guess the answer and then say to not may attention cause you dont really know. are you just trying to get a high post count? only post questions and answers. misinformation is the devil.


the 2.4 is an iron block with an aluminum head.

actually you are partially correct

the caddie 4.1 was a aluminum block , with cast iron heads , LOL


the LS1/LS6 in the vettes and F-bodies are all aluminum , the 4.8 and 5.3 trucks got aluminum heads , and the newer 6.0 got the aluminum as well , the older 6.0 had cast iron


speedvision , i think more were being sarcastic , than guessing

the ohv, eco, and 2.4 all have alum heads
