EXHAUST HELP!!!
Sunday, March 06, 2005 9:18 AM
alright guys....97 Z24..i desperately need a new exhaust (have original stock exhaust on). i want to know if there is a nice looking exhaust or muffler out there on the market at a decent price but w/o an annoying noice. i really do not want too much exhaust noice b/c i rather hear my intake scream. any advice would be greatly appreciated!! thanx

header to a high flo cat to a 18"+ resonator to a Dynomax super turbo muffler, using all 2.25" piping

i know that resonator helps with reducing sound, but does that as reduce flow as well??

no reduction in flow as long as you get a perforated core.

without a resonator, you will get the raspy, bumblebee sound. i have the pacesetter header, 2.25 pipe, dynomax muffler, and a 26 in resonator. my exhaust tone is low but not loud

so if i am looking at my exhaust from rear to front...the resonator would be that first smaller muffler looking thing, then comes my cat or vice versa??

some people told me that a dynomax muffler sounds pretty good on the stock exhaust..?? what is the stock exhaust diameter..2in?? is a Z24 diameter any bigger than a regular 2.2 exhaust. just curious to the fact that i am going to install a custom exhaust b/c i really don't have the money to fork out from a header on back. someone earlier told me a 2.25" mandrel bent catback into a dynomax super turbo muffler sounds pretty good....?? anyone experience with this??

I have the exact exhuast that Lawn is talking about except no resonator yet, its a nice deep mellow rumble, but when its cold it tends to rattle a little. Im getting the resonator put on in like 2 weeks.
