So how is it that the stage 2's set codes and the stage 3 dont

The Stage 3's are ECM friendly, but the stage 2's are not? I dunno. That doesn't sound right, but I hope it is!!!

yeah, that seems a little odd....i really wish they would start selling packages with cams and reflashed pcm or cam/pcm/head etc... That way they could at least do the dyno tuning at their facilities and write a map for each big modification. If they can supposedly reflash the computers i don't see why they don't do this as i see it as being the only way to really make use of their cams and heads.

I have to agree. That really doesn't make much sense...

Also, I find it funny that they willingly advertise that there are codes thrown on the Stage 2s NOW that they are developing a Stage 3 camshaft LOL

Rodimus, i'm pretty sure you'd be astounded by the gains to be had through a properly ground set of cams with the correct lack of overlap and higher lift Personally, I don't like the idea of off-the-shelf cams, my recommendation would be to call up crane or crower or one of the other big cam manufacturers and talk to a rep about your particular setup.

Stage 3:
No Codes, ECM Friendly, 19-23WHP

I don't know. That sounds a little too good to be true. There has got to be a catch. I me do you guys really think a set of these cams installed would really put out anywhere near those numbers?

Crane Cams currently makes 5 grinds I would think they are a big enough company to maybe get it right

It says they are able to be used on the 2.2L and 2.4L Ecotec's.

Re: Stage 3 ECO cams

being a satisfied customer of JBP cams (for my 2.4L) I popped into JBP yesterday (live 10 minutes from them) and spoke with Mev and Mike. I told them how some people on the internet were skeptical after having so many bad results with ecotech cams. rest assured guys this is the real deal. they explains its a tri-flow design and showed me on a customers car that theres no codes at idle. they idled a 2004 cavy for 35minutes! it sounds really good too. i asked for a ride, but they were too busy or didn't want to. fo' realy yo.

More than likely N/A...from history I believe most of their dynos were on near stock cars.

I wonder how they would work with a good ole 75 shot of juice

Re: Stage 3 ECO cams
Friday, December 02, 2005 8:46 AM
opps I posted that too fast, I meant if there is a much higher added gain while under spray, I would assume so since it states n20 on their site.

Re: Stage 3 ECO cams
Friday, December 02, 2005 9:35 AM
so these would be okay with N2o??

Re: Stage 3 ECO cams
Friday, December 02, 2005 10:56 AM
supposedly yes but I e-mailed them again to make sure and to see if they happened to have any dyno runs with n20

Re: Stage 3 ECO cams
Friday, December 02, 2005 12:44 PM
well ive got there Stage 2 cams working with no codes EVEN WHILE IDLING
and they told me they were a 20 hp gain

The one, the only, ME.
Re: Stage 3 ECO cams

^^^ what was the gain on your car then???

Re: Stage 3 ECO cams
Friday, December 02, 2005 3:26 PM
