Maybe we shouldn't provide a link to Mantapart... Noobs might actually buy from them.

holy hell!!! STICKY STICKY STICKY!!!!!! damn mike you did a really nice job on this.

does anybody know why the Haynes manual claims the 95 2.3 intake cam to have .375 of lift? typo?

Re: LD9 Cams list

At what lift do you need to modify the cam tower caps? You should also note which ones just drop in and which ones need what type of work to use.

Those Mantapart cams have crazy lift. Wouldn't you need valve reliefs in the pistons to run those?

^^^^ Yeah just how far down can you push the valve before you hit the piston? Wouldn't this have something to do with the compression ratio of the piston?

That is pretty much the list I have.

The last 3 cams listed for Mantapart were actually for a 2.3, but can be used on a 2.4

Here are a couple that are missing from above

RaceTech turbo regrind
203 degrees @ .050 with .375” lift for the intake
206 degrees @ .050 with .377” lift for the exhaust

Competition Cam Specs ( 2.3 )
226 degrees @ .050 with .411 lift for the intake and exhaust
232 degrees @ .050 with .421 lift for the intake and exhaust
238 degrees @ .050 with .431 lift for the intake and exhaust

Crower Cam Specs
224 degrees @ .050 with a lift of .346” for the intake and exhaust

Genertec XX10 Specs ( LD9 )
218 degrees @ .050” with .375” lift for the intake
219 degrees @ .050” with .375” lift for the exhaust

Wade Jarvis wrote:^^^^ Yeah just how far down can you push the valve before you hit the piston? Wouldn't this have something to do with the compression ratio of the piston?

Since the Quad4/TC engines have 0 deck height, it has to do with head geometry (i.e. valve diameter, valve height, and valve angle) and piston shape. Compression doesn't determine the possible valve lift (but maybe you were referring to piston shape...idk). But people are running HO cams (.410" lift) on stock LD9 heads and bottom ends. However, the LD9 springs are far too weak to go any more aggressive than the HO. Some have even claimed that the HO cams are already too aggressive for stock LD9 springs, but "physically" the valves won't interface with the pistons.

Does anyone know what the Integra Type-R's Vtec cam profiles are with the high rpm lobe set? Just so I can compare.

Honestly guys these cams are the best things you can do for your 2.4. But I cannot believe I'm seeing such incredible duration. 260s @ .50! : O
Whats the idle RPM set at with those things 1400 rpm? :}

Lately I have been reading people saying the HO cams clear the pistons on a stock LD9 bottom end. Can anyone who has DONE this comment or PM me. Up until a few months ago everything I read said it could not be done. Maybe no one had tried because of the CPS and tune issues, but now with MSD cam sync and HPT that might have changed.
