Stupid noob question, but what's the ratio mean? What effects will my engine see between 1.5 and 1.6? I'm new to the engine performance stuff. (I used to be one of those who made it LOOK fast... not GO fast.)

If you still have these, are they the ones for the 2.8L (60*V6), or are they the SBC rocker arms? The V6 rockers are part #1414, which use an 8mm stud. These wont work with the '98+ motor as the stock stud has a shoulder for the stock rockers to mount against. Some of the '98 and all of the '99+ motors use an 8mm stud stud base, so they can't use the stock 60V6 stud to mount these rocker arms.
If these are one of the SBC self-aligning rocker arms (part # 1418) the 2000 motor would require the ARP 134-7201 M8 X 1.25 base, 3/8" X 24 top rocker arm stud, from the SBC Vortec heads.
If the rocker arms are the Comp Cams # 1416, they will not work on the 2000 motor, as they require the self-aligning tips.
What about the ones found on the Series-II 3800 V-6? From what I've seen elsewhere, they look as if they may just be a bolt-on for the '92-'97 engine, and they have a 1.6:1 ratio.

all the specs look the same but allow for a slightly bigger spring compared to the proforms
i know i would have to delete the guide plate and get the 2.8 studs with a washer.

I would like to install 1.6 roller rockers on my '97 2.2 OHV. Will this set of parts work together properly on the stock '97 cylinder head with stock push rods? I realize this may not be the cheapest setup, but I feel that it utilizes top quality parts for best reliability. I would appreciate any assistance or advice.
1. Comp Cams 1618-12 Ultra Pro Magnum Roller Rocker for Chevy 3/8" stud, 1.6 ratio, self aligning
2. ARP rocker stud 100-7201, M10 x 1.5 bottom threads, 3/8 - 24 top threads
3. Remove stock push rod guide plates. Install thick 10 mm washer between stud and cylinder head to allow enough thread engagement on valve adjuster.
4. Use stock valve cover with some grinding to allow clearance for intake rockers. (I hope to avoid using a valve cover spacer.)
5. Valve adjustment: Bring each cylinder to TDC compression stroke. Tighten adjustment nut to remove free play in valve train, and tighten additional 1/2 turn to preload hydraulic lifter.
If anyone else out there is interested in doing this mod, I would be willing to purchase the 1618-16 set of 16 rocker arms for the v-8 and split the cost. Otherwise, I will have 4 extra rockers from the V-6 set
