Upgrade path for '98 2200 Sunfire

Hi there, I just picked up a '98 Sunfire with the 2200 engine and a 5-speed. It's actually impressively zippy for only 115hp!
However, stock is never enough right? I plan to build this for SCCA MF or PF RallyX/AutoX classes, depending on performance, with the eventual goal of going boosted.

First mods will probably be an SRI and replaced muffler, unless the stock muffler isn't a bottleneck for the NA builds. Possibly headers, if the gains would offset the PITA factor.

Any help/input/ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Suspension is usually where I start on with a car. These cars can handle surprisingly well with a properly set up suspension. BC Racing or Tein Super Street(SSP) coilovers, sway bars, poly/delrin bushings are a good place to start. Also proper wheels and tires will help a lot. No cheap/stretched all season tires. A nice light 17x8 wheel with a 245 summer only tire(I like Hankook Ventus V12s).
