Exhaust measurement
Monday, November 22, 2010 8:53 PM
The person before me modified the exhaust in my car and now I need some factory measurements. Anyone know what the distance from the rear O2 sensor to the front flange on the catalytic converter is? I am trying to get new piping cut and can't seem to get this measurement right.

Thanks in advance for any help.

BTW - My car is a 98 Sunfire Coupe. 2.2L Single exit exhaust.

between 15 and 24 inches. don't have a stock exhaust anymore, but i know it's in that range.

I ended up with something like 21". It sounds silly but I need to get the measurement right because I am about to replace the catalytic converter and the previous idiot cut the flange off on the engine side. So now I have to get a new flange welded on, but it took me a trip to the local junkyard and I got lucky enough to find one without the cat hacked off and measured it.

Also - I don't know if anyone else has this "problem" (problem in quotes because I find it kind of nifty) but my car has NO downstream o2 sensor and no simulator, just cut wires and I have no CEL for it. What the heck?
