Protonus, nice work underneath your 'bird. Looks like you've done a lot of stiffening there and I'll bet its a lot more fun to drive!
Where is the tubular rear axle from? Is it custom made, or off another GM car?
Look at my member profile people, lol
I'm not gonna re type all I have done haha.
I'll make a thread on it sometime, for now, look at my profile and mygallery here

got the 82 cimarron and the 83 cimarron is being converted into a z24
Let me try this again. I don't know my URL from my HTP. The last time I added a picture on here was to let everyone know it was on eBay. I don't need the car. I have a truck, a van and 4 cars in the driveway as well as 3 motorcycles and a 1948 Ford 8N tractor, that I have no use for. The bidding only went tp $987 and I had lowered my reserve down a grand from my $2500 buy it now price. I couldn't let it go and be used as a beater. They only made 917 of the 1987 Sunbird Turbo GT Convertibles. They're can't be too many left and this one still has plenty of fun left and at 30mpg yet 165 horsepower. I'll watch the thread on this link. If you have a similar car or are otherwise interested in mine feel free to email me at monzagoat@yahoo.com
That is a sweet looking 87. What are you looking to get for it and where are you located?
I have 5 cars already, but that is too cool to let someone use it up as a daily driver.
Thanks for the compliment. It is a really cool little car. I actually like this one better than the Fiero, but I need to do quite a bit of work on the Fiero before I'd try to sell it.
Then I have to go to work on the 66 GTO and at least give my Monza Spyder a good look over to see if I can bring it back from the dead. Back to the Sunbird.
I had it on eBay for a 2500 buy it now that would include a truckload of extra parts including the original wheels, an extra transmission, Intake, Turbo and Head. The auction reserve was first at 1800 and finally lowered to 1500. Using the buy it now was the only way I was including the extra parts. The auction only reached 987. The car was 17,000 new, I've had it about 11 years and I have about 4,000 in it. I'm a little surprised that these haven't increased in value. The old car price guide prices them well above Fiero GT's. I think 1800 for the car and all the parts is pretty fair. I live in Kent Ohio and as you can see in the photo, about once a year I take the Sunbird a 150 mile round trip so that I can run it down the track a few times. Ya gotta trust a car to do that. There is another photo and more info on the Hello From Toledo Post. Thanks for your interest & sorry so long in the reply.

camaro designers must have did the fascia..
Here is my '86, purchased off Ebay just a few weeks ago-
This is a huge flashback for me. I was in my mid 20s in the mid 1980s, and VERY into first gen J cars. I bought a red over silver '85 Sunbird S/E turbo hatch in late '87. I had it until '91 and sold it. The engine electronics were never right and I got tired of the engine running rough.
This '86 Z24 brings it all back, but in a different flavor- the V6 torque and burbley exhaust are quite different from the 1.8 OHC turbo. I just did the brakes and rotors. Letting the wallet cool off a month, and plan to get a quality custom fit car cover in late April.
In May, I'll spring for a nice deep clean shampoo of the interior, as the prior owner was a smoker
Mid summer will be new gaskets for the tranny and oil pans, and valve covers.
