Surely a typo but a true million mile Cimarron might help the reputation these little guys have. Here it is for sale in Seattle.

I have to think someone miss typed the actual mileage.I do not even recall a gas engine going with a full rebuild over 400k,i know some Honda accords have went north of 300 before being done. The info I said is soley my actual reading or hearing of the real storie's and not to say one's vehicle could not achieve more.BUT I have to add more as I think of this.Look back at vehicles over the decade's and regardless of brand some cars/trucks went wayyyy beyond any expectation's but,I think the 80's and early 90's stuff have proved that. The rides that failed the quality or support are well no longer on the road in any variation.Seen any pacers lately?Nope there used as aquariums!

Got 437,000 miles on my 1998 SL2 with an American built 1.9 Saturn engine. So it can be done with some maintenance. A co-worker still has it behind his garage for a parts car.

I was looking at the add and looking at the pictures, thinking well thats not an 86, it has the bumper end caps that I need for my front end. I do agree with it being a 1983, will be the 2.0L tbi, and FWD obviously lol

My dad is nearing 300,000mi with his 99sl1, the engine or transmission hasn't been rebuilt yet. Though I don't know how much more he's going to get out of it as he's not meticulous about maintenance and he takes it to some shadetree hillbilly mechanic, no offence to hillbilly's.

Before the local Saturn dealership turned into Subaru one they had a high mileage wall and one guy had over 400,000miles on a SC.

Love our J-bodys and they are reliable, but I seriously doubt a j can make it above 300K - and that would have to be done in a place like Arizona.. !

Bought a Saturn in 2002, worst car I ever drove. Felt like it was being blown all over the road above 55mph, just as warranty was over, everything started going wrong, and the #1 cylinder died under 50,000 miles.

My 90 4dr has 288,000 miles. Had to replace the original timing chain at 284,000, after it broke on my way to work, and the original exhaust went bad a year ago. Should have lasted longer than that.

my 83 rust bucket of a cimarron had 357,xxx km's on it. thats 221,xxx miles. it was here, it went out to BC, then it was here, then off to BC.. and back a couple more times lol I was able to keep 1 door, the aluminium rims, the motor still ran great. kept it. even the bottom of the hood has been rotting out, going to have to scrap it but its protecting others for now.

My 2004 Cavalier has 214,000m on it, runs and drives excellent, and this is in Alberta winters and pothole summers.

Sounds like you just bought a bad one. Our 2002 is still running great with over 140,000mi on it though the past 2 hard winters killed the Starter, Battery & Alternator. There was one odd thing we had an issue with a few months after we bought it which was the intake gasket was literally coming apart which we promptly fixed with a premium gasket, other than those things everything else is original too the car aside from the fluids, tires, brakes etc...
