Just looking if some real jbody people have an interest for a rare 1982 hatchback, I have the car for 3 years now and did not used it because I have another one too.
I have also parts from a 1983. Engine 2.0 lt low millage plus other parts.
My decision is not done but it is a shame I am not using that beautiful jbody.

It is very hard to find someone that will give these antiques the love and care that they deserve. These cars just don't have much of a following. I have watched this website just die off. 10 years ago there was a flurry of activity here but now all is quiet.

It is heartbreaking to sell one to someone that neglects them or just runs them into the ground. Folks like ourselves cherish these machines but the younger generation just don't care for cars, much less old ones. Everyone wants the collect-o-mobiles.

I have had to realize I have all I can reasonably take care of. My niche is finding something that is in rough condition and destined to be run into the ground - patch it up and enjoy the most I can out of it. I do hope you might find that special someone to sell this very rare car to. My advice is to just hold on to it. Start it up once a month and maybe drive it a little every 3 months or so. Keep everything running. Put a crazy expensive price on it and sell it to someone who is serious. Damn serious!!

It takes a special someone these days to truly enjoy puttering around in something that only has 85 horsepower. This isn't the model for speed demons and horsepower freaks. Some people will take these rare machines and shoehorn the biggest most powerful 6 banger they get or cut and torch a LS Chevy with RWD. I don't mind that all on something that is headed to the scrapper. This car isn't headed there.

What's the asking price? A guy on the Pontiac forums is looking for a first gen Sunbird hatch, he might be interested....

Hello,

The car is in Gatinea Québec , close to Ottawa the national capital in Canada. I am not using the car and it is a special car 1982 hatchback and in 2019 I would say it is rare actually.

I don't need to sale the car I am asking my self if someone like me who love the first generation is interesting to have a real first production of the cavalier,

I would like to have $5000 Canadian.

Again I don't need to sale the car but if someone share the same passion we will talk at $5000 Canadian.

Thank you all and a special hello the Orlen !

Pierre

I see different wheels in the pics, which ones go to the car? ( Steel or aluminum?)

Engine and interior pics please when you have time....

No rust anywhere?

Nice looking cars, I already have an 82 Cimarron and an 82 J2000 hatchback. Unfortunately I'm in the same boat looking to part ways with some of my first gens.

It's a J in great shape, and I have had all generations of the Cavalier (1987-2004).

And I do miss my first gen (a 87 2dr RS)

I am more than willing to give a first gen J a home here in MI. I now have places were I can care for it. :-)

Just not looking to spend a bunch ( 5 grand CA would be like 4ish US) of crazy money on one ( I have other things like my house to update) plus I would want to update/fix up the car as well.

A friend of mine just picked up a 87 Cimarron with 85k for 850.....and it was in the dream cruise this weekend!!!!

Would my 2004 Cav happy ti have a garage mate.... :-)
