Stop the Necro posting. Jez.

This thread is form 2005. Of coarse the link is dead.

I miss my Cavalier, even if it made 100 hp on a cold day and had more suspension then it deserved.

Well ive heard your the faq man to ask so....

Im interested in boosting a 1990 2.2. Im old school by heart and have never boosted anything before. Im planning on pulling the engine and rebuilding it. I need to find a turbo header and i was really hoping that you could tell me what yr headers will bolt onto a 1990 2.2 head. Ive read that any 2.2 ohv header will work but no one has been able to verify it. Ive got some more questions but they are more boost related. Thanks for your time

Pretty sure any 1990-99 2.2 header tuebo manifold will work. Not sure about the 2200s. I would assume they would unless the ports changed.

On the inside my car looks like a fighter jet.

If you want FAQ info, go to www.v6z24.com most of those links are still good.

The exhaust ports are the same from 90-97 (and even back to 87,since the head carried over from the 2.0). In 98, the ports got bigger, but pretty much all the aftermarket manifolds will fit any year. You may run into fitment issues with the alternator bracket, since it changed several times through those years. Your big issue will be getting a good fuel system worked out. The TBI isn't the best for what you want to do.

From what ive read up on, stock tbi can be boosted better than stock fuel injectors. Ive tried getting ahold of 1redy i believe is his name. He has or had a 90 2.2 turbo car. I will head over and check out that site. Never really went there cause it said v6 lol.

Ryan (1redry) hasn't been here since 2012 when he sold his Turbo Cavalier but he does check v6z24 from time to time. This is a search of Ryan's posts Has a lot of good info in some of the posts he's made over the years.
