For those running Wilwood front big brakes...

Has anyone swapped the over to banjo fittings at the caliper?

I ask because I am not happy with the current way Wilwood attaches their stainless lines to the caliper.

Why are you not happy? And why do you want to change it?

I am doing this right now, got the Goodridge stainless lines. Although I am not using a bolt on Wilwood kit right now... Although I would have to think the brake line hole would be the same.

I've had one of their 45 degree fittings loosen up on me a few seasons ago causing a mess of brake fluid on my wheels and potentially causing a HUGE leak. Plus when they are tightened down the direction of the fitting cannot be controlled. I want to choose where my brake lines are aimed.

According to the Wilwood kit the calipers provided for our J kits uses a 1/8-27 NPT fitting in the caliper and a -3 line. I have yet to find a banjo bolt in 1/8 npt thread.

Wilwood brake line kit.

Probably because banjos are usually straight threads and not NPT AFAIK.

You should be cool using a normal 1/8-27 banjo bolt since NPT threaded holes are just normal straight threads. Its generally the part that threads in that has the taper that seals in the fluids. Thats if you can actually find an 1/8-27 banjo bolt. I didnt really see anything around that size.

Your only option might be the ole drill and tap.

On second thought an 1/8-27 would be the same as a #5-27 bolt.

I just don't feel that would be the solution I am after. I haven't contacted Wilwood yet. I may do that soon.

I know Todd Miller did this swap successfully but the list he gave me is long gone. I may PM him as well.

Ordered a set. I may get some shorter lines made as well.

Wilwood provides 8 foot long brake lines for this setup. (slight exaggeration).

Problem solved.

For some odd reason my current lines are 18" long and after checking the Wilwood website my lines should only be 13". I ordered a set of lines.
