I posted my spec sheet from the alignment shop. You can see the issues I had. They were able to get it perfect though. I don't know if they had to file away at the holes but I did notice I have a completely different bolt in the upper hole of knuckle.

zach did they use the camber bolts ?
and did they slot the mounts also ??
I was pretty low in the front (over 2" down) when i went in and they had no problems bringing mine back to proper alignment.

If my car wasn't in the shop being repaired I'd run outside and tell you bro. The bolts were gold if thats any count and the nut was slightly smaller than stock. As far as slotting the mounts I would have to check and see. I'll go to the shop this weekend and take a look and get back to ya on that.

well dont pull the car apart , i dont want you to mess with your alignment
maybe call the place that aligned it and see ask them what they did
Sorry but for the price these sound like a headache and a half.
Yeah its really not that bad at all. Minus that, which was fixed with the alignment I've had zero problems.

Ok, so I just got back from the shop who is putting on my suspension. Something I am rather confused with is the fact that the car has POSITIVE camber of 2.5 degreese with three fingers distance between the wheel and the fender in the front. Also, the technician says that I NEED camber bolts because he cant get to the OEM camber adjuster bolt because it is too big. I am about to go spend 140 dollars on camber bolts... This honda guy tells me that i may be able to slot out the holes in the strut where it connects to the knuckle, so i can slide the bolt over to correct the camber. Does any one know anything about this???
But anyways, I am wondering what is up with the positive camber and whether i should blast 140 bucks on the Progress camber bolts or get one of the 30 dollar eibach front camber bolt kits...
-Steve
140.00 for some bolts , gawd dam some ones gotta be smoking some thing
i would pay 140.00 for any bolt , unless it was to hold a 20 billion dollar air craft togehter
they do know the upper holes are the camber holes right ?
140 bucks for 2 nuts and bolts is outrageous. Buy the eibach ones or moog.
If you ride higher than stock that could be the reason you have positive camber.
I've got it lowered...2-3 finger gap front and rear...??? I dont get the positive camber either...any ideas?
my front is about 2 finger gap , unfortunatly i dont have the print out from my alignment
most cause i forgot to ask , and i have to go back , i had a bad part , and gotta replace it and go back for them to finish it correctly
but my camber wasnt off by much , only the toe was
but my toe went wacky any time i droped it or undid something in the front end
I got another update from the mechanic... He said that the diagram i got from Jim isn't for a Cavalier... He said that the top mount looked nothing like it when he was done. Do you think he coulda screwed something up there and thats why I have positive camber? The picture diagram from Jim about the front mounts are for the 2k+ right? Im confused...
-Steve
the diagram that i posted is what jim sent me for the 95-99 style mounts. i had no problems whatsoever with my install, and i had never looked at a jbody suspension prior to that. when i got it aligned at the dealership, they were surprised at how the camber had hardly been affected with the car dropped 1.5". my only problem was that the toe was off.
I see you lowered it 1.5", I respect that, but not having a kit I want to go lower, like tucking, how are these when that low? SERIOUSLY in the market now
.
when i first installed them i had the front dropped probably a good 2.5 almost 3 inches all around. i went to the dealership to have it aligned at that height but they couldn't get it on their alignment table, so i had to take it home and raise it up to where it is now. i thought it rode really well that low, there were weird vibrations due to the misaligned front end, but i would say the ride was better than stock. i hate bouncy cars, and the ride was nowhere near bouncy, and wasn't so stiff that it was unfomfortable.
if you love your lip joe , you wont go low enough to tuck
im droped alittle more than the prokit , and my lip is now scared to death of parking bumps or curbs
My alignment sheet is posted on the first page guys. The camber issue is a pretty easy fix if its taken to a respectable shop.

Im still having a problem with the stiffness of the ride. Over small, normal bumps its ok, but when i hit train tracks, even doing 15-20 mph its hits hard like i have no suspension what-so ever. Feels like the car is gonna fall apart. And im on 15" snow tires right now. Im really thinking im going back to stock and selling the car in the spring.
Joe, you in the market for Gravana coils with front mounts already on?
lol
<img src="http://www.j-body.org/registry/nothing13/thumbnail_sig-jpeg.jpg">
Before I wrecked the only problems I had with bumps were at 70+ mph, it nearly broke your back. I never got a chance to fix that before my accident though.

I rode like that on the RK coils/Konis all last summer, well not tucking, but close-
My lip does not have one scrape on the underside of it, I swear, I could take pics of the front bumper now as it's off for winter
. The only spot I'm remotely worried about is my driveway, but when angled I'd be fine. I come close right now when backing straight up with the Sportline drop.
Park away from curbs not over them! Come on now
.
nothing13 PM me if serious.....
joeDM---do you wanna go this low?
he's got his gravana coilovers set way down and he seems to like the way they ride
here's the link to his registry
linky
LOL! Jesus, I was content where I was in the pic of my car above, but wow.
I would jump on these, but kinda irritating price is marked up $500 from the GP price. So I think I'll pass at the moment unless Gravana wants to work out a deal with me.
joe , my lip has more scraps from the prokit , then it has from the coil overs
but i do rub the bottom of the lip now getting out of my drive way , LOL
