Disabling ABS - just pull the fuse?
Saturday, December 26, 2015 2:10 PM
Hi there, I've got a '98 Sunfire and the ABS is really really bad. As in, if ABS comes on, my ice/snow braking distance is pretty much doubled from what it is if I just threshold brake normally. I'm fine with just not having ABS, as none of the other vehicles I regularly drive (except for a couple ambulances) have ABS in the first place. Besides, I plan to rallycross this car as well, where ABS is more of a hindrance than a help.

Anyways, my plan is to just take the ABS fuse out, which should disable the system but leave standard braking intact correct? Or is there anything else I need to do to do this safely?

Thanks!

Thats pretty much it. Cept your handbrake and ABS light will be on all the time.
