3400 lower engine mount bracket, any interest?
Wednesday, October 22, 2008 5:46 PM
Ok guys, heres the deal.
I will be fabbing up a lower engine mount bracket for a 3400 swap next week. Is there any interest from anyone doing the swap for me to make one for them? Price should be about $60 plus shipping. I will have pics of the bracket next week when its done.
PM or post in here.

<raises hand> The less # of pieces you can make it the better I can't get the bends right on my press.... spent way more than $60 on 1/4" steel so I'm still rocking my 1/8" flat steel one

Ok guys, I will have pics up probably mid-next week. SHOULD BE about $60. I will let you know for sure next week.
This is a pic of the first one I made last year for RSF's car. This was in the early stages, but you can see that the metal is definately very thick.

It even held up when one of the bolts backed out and the other one snapped the boss in the oil pan. He just bent it back slightly and replaced the pan. Still going strong.
Very blurry pic, but you get the idea.

I'd be really interested and would most likely get one off you....

My only Q.
I'm assuming this is designed to work with the J dogbone, not the W? I'd rather use the J one....

There will always be someone faster than you, but thousands slower and dumber than you.

Ok, so here are the pics.
A few things first though. This is in bare metal, it still needs to be cleaned up and painted. It is VERY strong, its 3/8 inch thick. I have a couple ideas that could make it even stronger though.

So far so good. LOL Just keep us updated man. I'm in no real rush, as I don't even have the 2.2L out yet. Make is as beefy as you can. I'll buy it.

You need to come visit and help me make a new shifter arm for my truck. The Dakota arm just isnt quite the correct shape.
