2200 stock cam spec
Wednesday, November 24, 2010 11:50 PM
I found a list of the original specs but lost it and I can't find it again.
If someone could hook me up, I would greatly appreciate it.
I need:
int/exh duration at .050, int/exh max valve lift, lobe center line, IVO, IVC, EVO, EVC at .050, and int/exh center line.
Thanks!
I'm playing around with Desktop Dyno and having issues with accurate numbers.

185*/185* @ 0.050" (int/exh)
0.263"/0.263" lobe lift
0.421"/0.421" w/ 1.6 rockers (advertised stock ratio, actual works out to be 1.54, per Event [long time JBO Member])
Int.C/L 108*
lobe centers 112*
Note:Following figures calculated from Desktop Dyno. If you enter the above info in the on Engine Math button/Cam Math, it will automatically calculate the follow information.
IVO (BTDC)-15.5
IVC (ABDC) 20.5
EVO (BBDC) 28.5
EVC (ATDC) -23.5

Hay, after updating the cam I'm getting unrealistic numbers now...
My setup used to be at 121hp and run 16.8sec with mods, which is what I ran at the track last time with my setup.
Now after updating the cam specs, its making 98hp and running 18.2sec...
Stock cam, large-tube headers with mufflers, stock ports/valves, stock valve dia, SFI manifold type, etc.
Any idea what I did wrong? The only thing I'm not 100% sure is accurate is the stock head flow I have set at 400cfm @ 1.5inHg.
I have the transmission info accurate in Drag 2003, summer tires, weight, wheel base, etc is all accurate... except for my drag coefficient (.31) and % on driving wheels (63.
I also found it weird that we have -39* valve overlap?

I'm using basic. On mine, for my stock set-up, I use H.P. Manifolds and Mufflers, splayed valve head with stock ports and valves and 1.730"/1.457" valve diameters. I tried the SFI manifold, but never got accurate results. I tried the single plane high flow and found the results needed. As for the header, use small tube headers, unless you have something bigger than a 1.5" primary tube header.

I'm running the pacesetter 4-1 header, so I tried changing to small-tube open exhaust and I changed my manifold to single-plane high-flow and it's a little better but the setup is still about 1sec slow in drag2003. IDK, thanks for your help anyway.

So trying to figure this all, these are the specs you guys provided. Any more ideas as to whats more accurate or whats wrong with my setup...?

MadJack
Lift:
Intake Exhaust
@lobe @lobe
0.263" 0.263"
Duration @ .050"
Intake Exhaust
185* 185*
Intake Centerline
108*
lobe centers
112*
.050" Valve Timing:
IVO (BTDC) - IVC (ABDC) - EVO (BBDC) - EVC (ATDC)
-15.5* 20.5* 28.5* -23.5*

Mrs Jazer
Lift:
Intake Exhaust
@lobe @lobe
.263" .263"
Valve overlap: 41°
Duration @ .050"
Intake Exhaust
185° 185°
Intake Centerline - Exhaust Centerline
116° - 110°
.050" Valve Timing:
Intake Opens - Intake Closes - Exhaust Opens - Exhaust Closes
19°ATC 24°ABC 22°BBC 17°BTC

And here is what Desktop Dyno is forcing me to use while trying to enter in the specs. If I try to set the timing to Jazer's specs it changes my duration automatically to a really high number.

Duration @ .050"
Intake Exhaust
185*, 185*
Lift:
Intake Exhaust
@lobe @lobe
0.263" 0.263"
Valve overlap: -39*
Intake Centerline - exhaust Centerline
108* - 116*
lobe centers
112*
.050" Valve Timing:
IVO (BTDC) - IVC (ABDC) - EVO (BBDC) - EVC (ATDC)
-15.5* 20.5* 28.5* -23.5*

Forced auto calc. Duration @ .050" with Jazer's timing:
intake 223* exhaust 219*
Valve Overlap 36*
