Wet kit: Fuel line tap?
Thursday, October 11, 2007 9:51 PM
I was thinking about putting a wet kit on my 97 Z24 and was just wondering if there was a place on the end of the fuel line I could tap into for the fuel solenoid. I know on lsx powered cars they have it and I was just wondering if my car had it and its raining so i dont want to go outside to look. Also If i do spray it would it be safe to run a 125 wet shot?

Nope, unfortunately the 2.4 guys don't have a Schrader valve like the Eco's do so you can just tap into your fuel line with a fuel tee and run it to your fuel solenoid. And even if your motor is built I wouldnt recomend a 125 shot, stock 50-75max,100,built motor with timing retard among other things,Faq and stickies at the top of the page will help you.

So where is the best place to tap the fuel line on a 2.4? FAQs dont really give too much info on tapping the line

Anywhere you want where there is a rubber part of the fuel line.

Basically you want something similar to that, but with barbed ends on (2) of the sides for the rubber line and (1) threaded side to run to the solenoid.

Typical stores won't have that, no. You'll need to go to a place that does specialty fittings and such. If you absolutely can't find it near you and would like to order it, try my place. Just make sure you had all the dims handy when you call. I'm sure they'll ship if you're in a bind.

ok i think i got the T figured out.. The stock fuel line is 3/8th right? Now i just need to find an adapter to get from the fuel line to the solenoid or atleast to the braided fuel line..

Here is my setup, granted not the best or nicest looking but works without leaks, the filter can be found cheap at Autozone and I have since replaced the rubber fuel line from the tee to the filter with braided line.

A small fuel filter, screws right into the solenoid and only costs a couple bucks.
