Best replacement door speakers 4x6?

Looking for some suggestions for 4x6 replacements. I would like the loudest with no distortion from a pair of 4x6's. These will not be hooked to an amplifier. What's everybody's opinions.

Also would like to keep the price under or around $100.

To be honest, aftermarket 4x6 speakers won't improve sound quality enough to justify spending 100 bucks, at least in my opinion. ESPECIALLY if they aren't hooked up to an amp.

What you SHOULD do, is make an adapter for a 6.5". I think the how-to is located somewhere in the forum sticky (I'm too lazy to find it. Search )

Take it from someone who learned the hard way. I went out and bought a pair of 4x6 kenwoods for something like 95 bucks, and was severely disappointed with the end result.

No one makes good 4x6s. Its an undesirable size for good performance. Either make 6.5" baffles or save your money. Especially since theyre going to be running off of a head unit and not an amp.

for ~100 and not hooking up to an amp your gonna want coaxials so i would say grab a pair of type-r's or go a little over budget for some JL's

Would you happen to have a link for the adaptors?

Ive got a pair of these Clarion 4X6 plate speakers in my doors, with a 4" speaker and 3/4" tweeter. Im running them and my rear Clarion 6X9's off my head unit and ive got no complaints with them at all. Price was just over $100.

is there a chance that the door panels would not fit on my 2002 sunfire if I put 5 x7s in? I would of course make the adapter rings as low profile as possible.

I am looking for struts for my newly aquired Eibach pro-kit performance coils, If anybody has some?

Why would you even want to do that? Do you just have 5x7's lying around?
If you're buying, buy 6.5

Because they are a better design and will sound and perform far better than an oddball oval speaker.
