Do they make an LCD screen that isnt fold out?

Im looking at getting an indash touchscreen mp3 player but I dont want a fold out one cuz I think they look cheap and out of place. Does any company make a stationary touchscreen that gets mounted in the dash?

have you thought about buying an MP3 capable deck such as...hmmm

alpine 5210 and hooking it up to a touchscreen alpine monitor

that way they would be separate, and if its going in the dash that would be neat.

i hope you do what i just said lol cuz thats what im doing and i wanna see how it comes out

the only problem with the touch screens are they are higly visible and easyt noticable. also they dont keep them as protected as the fold in ones. I suggest the fold in ones. but i was searching ebay the other night and they have some really nice and cheap pioneers for sale.

Brian - We sell the Eclipse ANV2454 Double din, and the eXcelon X7015, BOTH KICK A$$!! You can get a bezel from a 00+ Cav and put it in there just like STOCK, the eXcelon has one thing I like that is why I'm going with it, you can add the Navagation and type in a Business Phone # and it will tell you the name, address, and how to get there. Preety sweet I think, but the Eclpise is awesome too. I would go to a stereo shop and use both and then make your decision. The only reason I'm not going with one of those screens is I have the 7inch glassed in to my dash, so I'm adding the eXcelon KVT-915 w/Nav to my existing set up, that way I'll have 2 7" screens stacked in the dash. One for Navagation, and the other for my audio, or video.

Also I am getting 12 of the LZ600W screens for my car, highly suggest KENWOOD screens, they are VERY CLEAR and attractive.

Good luck with whatever you get. If you want you can come over a state and I can sell you the eXcelon 7015 w/Nav package for $2,299. Let me know

There's a guy on mp3car.com (goes by "turbocad6") that hacked a fold-out Alpine IVA D300, I think, into a permanent-type install. Go here for some install pics. Granted, he did this in a Pontiac Montana, so he's also got a lil more dash room... he's also got 7 total screens....

As for me, I'm hacking something about 2x the size .... it's called a laptop! (Don't worry tho, it's ONLY 14.1" screen)

His setup:

A lot of the pics you'll want to check out are on page 3

I'm getting some good ideas from that site, could be worth checking out for audio & carputer related info
