i'm trying to go for the "cant tell where the music is coming from" too. i dont really go to concerts, nor do i listen to much live music. i like surround sound, where the music surrounds me.

I'm backing up Jason on this one. When you run high quality front components, you won't even know that there are no rear speakers. In a great quality sound setup, it seems as though the bass is coming from the front, just like everything else should. I don't know why you'd want to pull your soundstage backwards behind you, but different people like different sounds in hteir music.
