answer me this, if you have one 3" fan pushing 3 cfm of air into the box, now you have another 3" fan pushing 3cfm of air out of the box how much air is actually moving across the amps heatsinks? answer 3 cfm.

now if you have an opening that is 6" x6" and on the other end you have 2 3" fans each pushing 3 cfm out of the cabinet, how much air are you passing over the amps heatsinks? answer 6cfm


so in essence your way will pull half the amount of air across the amps heatsinks as my way.


computer circulation works diffrently then amps do, in a computer they are forcing air to take a certain route to cool things off, a computer will stay cooler with its shroud on then it will if you took the shroud off and it was open to the air, a amp is completly diffrent. an amp in the open air will stay way cooler in open air versus an enclosure.

sndsgood is correct that you want both fans pulling air out for the reasons he stated.

When doing it though try not to have a clear path from the air inlet to the fans. you want to make sure that cool air moves over/through the amp.

yeah. I decided to put both of the fans on one side, the question now, does it make a difference, push or pull?

thast been debated as well with people getting into the density of hot air versus cold air etc. but personally i would have them pulling hot air out of the box. just a preference really doubt there will be much variation in air moved either way.

I am a computer technition, and if i have only 1 or 2 fans, i always have them exhausting the hot air. if i have more, i try to balance cfm in and cfm out.
