Hey,whats up guys?
I just bought an installation kit for a 2000 cavalier because it has a pocket under the radio. Will it fit in my 98?I know the 2000 radio sits on top of the heater controls, and my 98 it sits under the heater controls.Has anyone put this kit on there 98?I bought it because it was on sale for 5 bucks,so if i dont fit oh well.thanks.

Won't fit.

The 2000+ radios are 2DIN aka double-DIN height. 95-99 are 1.5DIN aka DIN and a half.

do you think you could get a new factory stereo working by doing a lil re wiring

Not a "lil re wiring"... but with a LOT of re-wiring it would work. You'd need to swap the entire car harness to a 2000+ computer, body control module, cluster, etc.. and then the 2000+ dash to hold the larger cluster, etc...

More work that it's worth.... for just a stock radio. Now if you're installing a GM supercharger..... now that's another story... (I did that swap.... full of problems though )
