my friend just bought an alpine CDM-9823 this afternoon and well we got a problem while installing it!

the radio if hooked up correctly doesnt want to come on,with a test light everything is comming up alright(battery and ignition wire are hooked up correctly) ground is good!

we hook the harness to the radio, nothing !

we plug the old radio back and it works!

can it be an headunit problem ?

If you checked all of you connections and still nothing I would say it is the unit. If you bought it from a local store they should have a return policy. Just bring it back and get a new one. If you didn't just buy it i would try to fight it out. Rip everything out and restart from scratch for your wire harness.

trying testing it by hooking it directly to the battery. just put the +12 and the IGN. wire together. and hook it straight to a battery. this will tell you wether it's your harness or your deck.

I told him to make a battery check but his mom is freaking out and keep telling us we will @!#$ the head unit if it's correct (wich imo is already @!#$) oh and it was a non hooked up demo at the store!
