i havent done a side by side comparison yet but i im under the impression that theres more to be had out of the 096 head then the ld9 also. ill be the first one to know once i get both of them flow benched though.

its done! im gonna go pick it up in about an hour here and ill have the numbers up on my lunch break at work tonight. he said he tried to call me on thursday but no answer, thats my bad cause i got a new phone number about 3 weeks ago and i never updated him on that. man im nervous on what these numbers are gonna be.......... i always get like this on my first set of numbers for a new head.

ok first off i want to get this out before the numbers.........

im very impressed with the flow numbers of these intake ports in stock form with stock valve job. that being said they are a bit harder to get more flow out of being that they are already flow so well in stock form. the max increase on the intake side was 20 cfm not bad but i was hoping for about 30-35cfm. the exhaust is whole other story. u can tell those stock ports are not going to flow much but once i gave them that well needed port work it really allowed them to flow more, alot more (vs stock of course) i picked up 58cfm on the exhaust at max lift. also incase some people are wondering why the stock head has more flow down low its because there is more velocity there because of the smaller cross sectional area so it will move the air faster and ultimatley it will move a little more because of that. but once the flow requirment is met (in this case .200" lift on both sides) to take use of the ported ports u can see they start to flow more, especially in the case of the exhaust ports where u see max potential at basically .300" lift in stock form...... at that point its just choking the engine pretty much. anyways heres the much anticipated numbers..........

I knew the intake was already pretty big but im glad to see that the exhaust can be drastically increased. I know itll be a while coming but I cant wait to see the difference in the 086 head.

NICE job man!!! its good to see the fruits of ur labor, yes?

interesting... i always thought it didnt matter what flow bench you run on as they are all calibrated to the exact same specs (so my machinist says...)

ive got numbers for a head i had done a couple years ago and it did lower numbers in stock form. however, its pretty much dead nuts on and shows that yours flows better up top, but mine does down low. so, that does show velocity was effected, right?

anyways, here's the numbers i had for mine. it was a mild port job so its pretty much right on where it should be i think...

stock intake: ................... ported intake:
@ .100-79.5 CFM ............. @ .100- 87.2 CFM
@ .200- 138.2 CFM .......... @ .200-156 CFM
@ .300- 211.8 CFM .......... @ .300-229 CFM
@ 400-247.1 CFM ............ @ .400 267 CFM

stock exhaust .................. ported exhaust:
@ .100- 69.3 CFM ............ @ .100- 71.5 CFM
@ .200- 122.4 CFM .......... @ .200- 134 CFM

If someone gets me cam specs I can run this in Desktop Dyno like I said I would, I just don't have any cam specs.



What I'm really surprised about is that the Eco head outflows the LD9 head, mind you slightly. I would of thought for sure the LD9 head would of flowed more.

Either way, great numbers Mike!

Since the numbers are similar to that of the Eco head, I would expect with a similer cam, this motor could make up to 260-270bhp with this head and 11:1 CR.

Call me skeptical (or insert random adjective/anatomical part), but do you have scans of charts? Or do we just trust that this was really done?

I realize Im running an 086 head but I want to see whats capable with the LD9 head...my cam specs are:

Intake
dur 215@50
lift .439
centerline 108

exhaust
dur 210@50
lift 410
centerline 112

LSA 110
overlap 31

I am also running a 70mm throttle body and 11.37-1 compression and a 1 3/" primary header...not sure if you need all that or not.

run some W41 cams at 11:1 compression.
specs
219 degrees @ .050" with .410" lift for the intake

so did u get my pm from erlier or no gary, how come u never respond when i pm u???

for everybody else though, i told gary i would pm him the pics of the flow sheets. i took the pics before work but didnt get them online because my interent was being a bitch. ill be sure to do this when i get home so people dont start to think im lying about this as they probably already think im not trustworthy because of the whole money for the flow bench situation.

idk i just think since gary paid for it, i dont see the problem with him asking, i mean he took a good leap of faith. im not doubting you at all, but you have to look at it from his point. it just left a bad taste seeing how it all went down. but im glad you can step up and fix it. thats all that matters.
