You need a better tune dammit. And you guys who want to push 400 hp on stock sleeves dont forgot the zzp block girdle, which I cant find on their site but they pushed an lsj with stock sleeves to like 898 hp.

What about rods? Does no one read the GM Ecotec Build book?

@!#$ the link...

GM wrote:The ECOTEC engine is the perfect starting point for
performance enthusiasts. Power levels of up to 400
horsepower can be achieved with the installation of
connecting rods and pistons, a new head gasket and head
bolts, adjustable cam gears and a nitrous oxide system or
a turbo kit. No modifications to the cylinder head, block,
main girdle or crankshaft are required.

GM wrote:We recommend that the connecting rods be upgraded
because stock 2.2L L61 rods are not designed for power
levels over 250 hp.

So on a stock engine 250whp is the max the engine is designed for, per GM.

GM's testing of the connecting rods was on nitrous, and not boost. Nitrous is harder on rods than boost.

We have proven the rods can take more than 250hp.

Also the ZZP girdle (which I think is awesome), requires you buying a block from them. You can't get just the girdle. So that raises the cost.

I also believe ZZP's HP number with the girdle was on a LNF block with a LSJ head.
