My Dyno Results!
Saturday, February 05, 2005 9:49 AM
Me and my friend were sittin around talking about cars when I had just remembered that someone told me the local speed shop Ride Revolution had lowered their dyno prices from one pull w/ A/F from $70 to three pulls w/ A/F for $50!! So we head over there to see what we could do.

Car: 2000 Z24 4spd auto
Mods: GMPP S/C @4.5psi / AEM WAI / RK Motor Mounts / Autotrans Interceptor

Here's a small video of one of the pulls...but be warned, my camera really sucks when picking up loud sounds...But you can bet, next time I dyno, I WILL have a better camera. So here's the video for those who want to see. Please Right Click and Save As!

I am doing mines very soon as well.
I did a test the day before I installed the S/C and got 136HP. Now I want to check out and see how much of a bump the GM S/C did.
The only thing I got is the K&N Drop-in replacement filter. So ya I am stock.
Hmm I still got my OEM filter and its clean, I will see if the K&N did any improvements.

Nice numbers man! That graph is as flat as Florida.

Thanks guys! The results really suprised me too, especially after seeing a couple of other auto GM S/C guys dyno in the 165whp area...even with more mods. So I was really glad about the outcome.

Mr.Goodwrench - good luck with your dyno man...hope you are as pleased with yours as I am with mine.

Jake - thanks man...I wish I lived closer too...I hate being one of the only serious J tuners in my area.

Can't wait for my tax return now...header and 2.5" exhaust, then I'll dyno again. Then soon after that, secret cam swap

pretty impressive for what you have. get exhuast, up the boost a couple, and you'll be bad ass. pretty good for the auto by the way

Not bad at all man

Makes me very happy when I think what #'s I would be producing with my setup.

Very nice for an auto. You could easily get over 200 w.h.p with some more bolt-on's and a pulley swap.

Nice number. You did not have them pull it to rev limiter? I would have just to see if it pulls all the way, looks like it would have. Yeah your camera makes the car sound like it has not exhaust!!! Nice numbers!!!

I told him to take it up to 6400rpms and he tried, but said it wouldn't do it. And yep, my camera blows

Also...my A/F ratio...I'm running a bit rich, but wouldn't that be best right now? My A/F started around 15's and settled down around 13's.

that sounds about right, dyno a/f ratios are so far off though, idle i run 14.6 and at full throttle its at 12.8, ive seen it touch into the 11s and 10s breifly but thats on an NA car

*S*P*L*O*O*G*E*

that is soooooooooooo what i want
question, what do you mean it wouldn't go up to 6500 rpms? the car, or did it shift, what happ? also, what did you do for the engine not to downshift? you said running rich, i think i read somewhere that the s/c proggy purposely runs a little rich. my question is, how exactly did they tap to get the a/f reading?

and if i do my math correctly, that should rough out to about 220 crank hp
