Does anyone make tubular/equal length manifolds?
Sunday, March 13, 2005 11:11 PM
I will be purchasing a friend's sister's z24 in the next couple of weeks because they are looking getting an SUV (kids on the way). The car is a 1998, 5 speed, 65k miles, ect. ect.

I know that Johnny Mack no longer produces his turbo kits, which came with the manifold that I am looking for, so I was wondering if there is any other companies that can produce an equal length, tubular manifold with a t3 turbo flange and external wastegate flange?

I was given the e-mail of the company that produced the manifolds for him, but I lost the e-mail and I think they were asking a ridiculous amount for the manifold (something like...$1500 or something)

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. I'm looking to piece together a custom kit with a nice manifold and larger turbo and see what I can get working.

Thanks in advance.

Zach

If you did decide to produce them, how much are we looking at price wise? Turnaround time? I assume you could do a t3 or t4 flange and external wastegate flange correct?

We're not making turbo kits to sell. We will make manifolds but not complete kits.

Do either of you (Exploited Racing being the other) know how you intend to design your manifolds? I am looking for something similar to the RamHorn design. Here's an example:

I would like something with similar welds, and I am a big fan of that design, but I need something to support 400+ whp. It won't begin that strong, but after the turbo is installed, the internals, ignition and transmission will be upgraded.

I've actually sent Mike an e-mail and will be discussing matters with him there.

That specific picture I posted was of a B-Series Honda Engine. The design has become pretty popular beginning with Full-Race and making it's way into other companies hands.

Out of curiosity, how hard would it be to spool a t04e turbocharger on a 2.4 liter without changing the flow in the head or the engine itself? I may be interested in his manifold.

Stock you only flow 125cfm through your exhaust ports. That turbo is probably capable for 6-700 cfm. In my opinion I think it's a bad move. You'll probably have to run 3" intercooler piping. Your gonna have turbo lag until the cows come home. Guessing I would say you wont make boost until 4-4500rpm and it will be redlined in a instant.

We could make a manifold that style fairly easy, I just cant find a collector at a reasonable price. Burns Stainless sells their collects for 400 bucks. It's good quality but thats just rediculous. Find me a good 4 to 1 304 stainless collector and we're in business.
