Yeah, I am hoping the car will be alittle bit quicker with the 4.11's in there. ( at least the math says so ). Then once I bolt the turbo on, I should have a really fun car to drive

The general rule of them I was told concerning FDR gear is the higher the number the quicker the car, the lower the number the faster ( higher top speed ) the car. The stock 3.94 on the 2.4's is a great all around FDR. You will see alot of v8 guys change their FDR's to 3.73 or 3.91's on street cars. The drag guys start at 4.11's and go higher

The 4.11s will definitely be interesting... Its going to make your 1st gear quite short. First gear on my car with the 3.91 1st and the 3.58FD was basically useless. However, on the 2.4 you have more rpms to work with. I could graph out the 2.4 tranny with the 411s for you if you like. Are you going to use anything else different, like the 2.2 3rd and 4th (sorry if I missed that).

Yeah why not. Go ahead and plot that out. I would like to see the results.

Dan,

Please graph that out. I plan on 4.11 FDR with 2.4 1st, 2nd, 5th and 2.2 3rd and 4th.

I do agree that 1st might be become very short, and feel even shorter with a turbo.

Here, plot it out yourself....

Sorry Dan, I stole you idea for the excel spreadsheet that plots mph vs. rpm * gear, I saw the screen shot of your spreadsheet a while back and went to work, I hope you don't mind.

and thanks to Jasen for hosting the doc.
