karo.... hang onto it......

If I dont hear from the machine shop by the end of this week, I'm looking at going to another place..... good news, they do awsome work, bad news, I need to pay up front, and it takes up to a month to get them.

IF I go that route, I'm looking at setting up a G/P......... what are your thoughts? (this would be for the 5 speed isuzu/getrag 95-05) Once that is done, and out of the way, I'll work on the auto's. (once I get some plates made, I can test it in a 92 GTZ trans)

Just an FYI, in a transmission the cryoed vs non cryoed doesn't really make a difference. The WRX transmission bombs, tried using cryoed gears to compensate and it didn't work. Cost vs benefit I don't think it's worth it as it does nothing to strengthen the gears in the way their used. Only way to really strengthen them would be to have them pressure forged, cryoing the stock parts won't give you any real strength in a transmission application.

i have an intrest in for a getrag 04. but but but. i want to know how hard they are to install. a few people have ask also.

If you haven't done transmission work before, I wouldn't recommend it. It's not exactly a 10 minute install.

Re: Team Green LSD review

Here's how I did my install:

1. Drop transmission

2. Drop transmission off at transmission shop

3. Pick up transmission

4. Install transmission in car.

Pretty easy Only took a day at the shop, cost me $250

its up to you if you feel mechanical enough to pull your trans out, disassemble it, install the LSD, and put it back together....... a trans shop can do it for you though.

Units for the 95+ 5 speed are done, and ready to ship (will ship next week)

Now that these are done, I can get on the next project........ assembling the 3 2.4's I have in the garage...... then on to doing the 3spd and 4spd Autos.

I also have a full Diff (with a Team GREEN LSD and the Machined Isuzu gears) for the Isuzu in the JBO classifieds.
