What's the widest tire that will fit on a 16x6.5 rim? I'm going for the total sleeper look on my car and found 16x6.5 (5-100) "Steelies" from Discount Tire but wanna wrap it in the fattest tire I can fit. Any ideas how wide I can go? My stock LS 16's have 205's on them but I don't know the rim width. Can I slap 225's on a 6.5" wide rim???

i think stock 16" cav rims are all 6" wide. most upgrade to 225 on them 225/50/16 to be exact. rare but there a few with 235s but i think those mite hit your struts? i could be wrong

i got 225s on my stock 6 inch rims. were a biotch to mount, tire is wider than rim by long shot.

i have 225s on mine, as dose my bud
