Tires
Friday, September 06, 2013 3:50 AM
I just bought some rims yesterday and they need tires. They came with 225/45/17 and I was wondering if 235/45/17 would fit. I have no spacers and its stock ride height. Or should I stay with 225/45/17. Thank you

Personally, I'd stick with the 225, but the 235 should fit a stock car with no issues. It does depend on the backspacing, though. If the 225s are already close to rubbing on the spring perch, you probably won't be able to get away with the larger tire.

225 for front is perfect , in the rear you can go as wide as 245 if you have the money and desire that look ,but you will be running wider rims in the back .I get away with running 235 in the rear on 7 inch wide rims however a 245 patch would require me to upgrade to a wider 8 inch rim for the rear

wider than 225 in front will give you rubbing issues on stock setup ,also you might want ot throw a good 1 inch spacer on the rear hubs to stance the rear tires flush with the fenders and to give you better cornering results.
