Making two wheels that close in size is the dumbest thing I've seen since the 16.5" 3/4 ton truck wheels.

Your failure to read the last posts date is the dumbest thing since 16.5" 3/4 ton truck wheels.

LMAO

Bumping an old thread to make a comment like this is the dumbest...

Nevermind, this is the JBO. That's not the dumbest. thing I've seen.

But the arguments in this thread are a slightly amusing read.

5x114 and 5x115 is different.
But you can make it to fit in.

Either you can put adapter or drill the hole to make it bigger to fit in.
But I do not recommend second choice.

So, did you read the last 5 stupid bumps this thread has gotten? Or did you just decide that you doing the exact same thing wasn't as stupid?

I came across this thread because I have a RSX (5x114.3) my Wife recently got rid of a Grand AM (5x115).
2 of My snow tires have low thread. I measured the difference between the lug holes in the Grand AM steelies. They are the same.

I was searching for steelies for our new car when I came across the Grand AM listed as having 5x115 bolt pattern, well thats not the same as 5x114.3. However the costco recommends the same multifit steelies for 5x114.3 and GM 5x115.

Has anyone measured a 5x115 compared to a 5x114.3?
Is GMs 5x115 just a rounding error?

Wish I had the OEM Grand AM Wheels to measure.
I'm thinking GM must be rounding no change the 3rd largest retailer in the world would risk a lawsuite.

^search for x99126N (model number of the multi fit steelies)
They are all 5x114.3 except for the GM Cars which are listed as having a bolt pattern of 5x115

This seriously had me rolling. You're taking COSTCO as a reputable source for something as technical as the difference between a 114.3mm bolt circle and a 115mm bolt circle? LMFAO dude.

They are, in fact, different. Even the wheel manufacturers list the different patterns.

114.3mm is 4.5"

The 115mm bolt circle was just a change to a direct metric measurement instead of a converted one. The reason you measured and didn't see a difference is because you were not using anything with the right precision. Also, I assure you that you can NOT simply drill them out unless you have a CNC mill and can perfectly set up the wheel on the bed so that the holes are lined up exactly where you need them to go. Once this is done, you now have slightly elongated holes, giving you improper seats for the lug nuts, so you run the risk of them constantly coming loose.

Lastly, this is a long settled issue. The wheels WILL bolt up, and you will LIKELY not have a problem, because the difference in the position of each hole is one third of a milimeter.

5 x 114.3= 5x4.5"
5 x 115=5x4.528"
So each lug hole will be off by 0.014"
Now on RWD forums "5 x 120.7 vs 5 x 120" is the argument.
So 5 x 4.120.7= 5 x 4.752 vs 5 x 120=5 x 4.724
Difference is 0.028"
So each lug hole will be off 0.014"
AS LONG AS YOU USE A HUB CENTRIC WHEEL OR A HUB CENTRIC RINGS AND YOU HAVE FRESH STUDS YOU SHOULD BE FINE.

BUT WARNING WARNING WARNING, ONLY USE HUB CENTRIC WHEELS OR RINGS. DO NOT USE LUG CENTRIC WHEELS UNLESS YOU LIKE VIBRATION POSSIBILITIES.
