Hi, I've been lurking here for a little while, and surprisingly I can't find any information if anyone's ever replaced the old console with the crappy single cup holder with the new console from the 2000(?)+ models. I noticed that the shifter hole is definitely different, so maybe the linkage doesn't match up?

Does anyone have any information if this would be a pretty easy swap or if it would be a nightmare? I really want to replace mine because drinks on my radio suck and my armrest has a bad lock from the previous owner.

Forgot to specify, I have a 1996 Z24 with the auto.

Usually stuff only interchanges with generation. 95-99 possibly some 2000. I tried swapping jus the top half with a double cup holder on my 99 and yea deft a bit diff but not sure if the bottoms mount the same.
