Cluster wiring

wasn't sure where to stick this question...couldn't find what i wanted so does anybody have a wiring diagram for 95-97 2.2 cavys gauge cluster....i got a chilton's but it's really kinda vague when i looked at the wiring harness on the gauge cluster

need to know so i don't have to run wires for my gauges from the engine bay
i've got the base model w/o tach if that helps

What are you trying to wire up? We can probably help more if you be more specific about what you are trying to do...

The wiring diagrams that are out there somewhere aren't exactly clear.

water temp/ oil temp/ oil pressure

No they aren't. The cluster works on the J1850 bus. All the data is sent through a single line called the serial UART data line. You can't tap into it for the data you want, you have to go directly to the motor for those connections.

Shifted, do you know if that applies to the Fuel level Sending unit wiring as well?

I never got my fuel gauge back to normal after the Black Cat Custom gauges, so I picked up an autometer fuel level gauge. They said all I have to do is tap into the existing fuel level wire.

Yeah it does, although there is still a signal wire coming from the sending unit that you can tap into. It goes to the ECU then the ECU communicates it to the cluster via the UART serial line.
