I just put leds in my maplights an they fade out but dont shut all the way off anyone know why?

LEDs require very minimal current to be on.. what your seeing is just a tiny bit of current making it to them through the switch even though its off.. if you probe the connector you'll probably read around .3volts or so being sent even when off.. the LEDs in my map lights and dome lights are the same way. there not bright but really dim just barely on..

if you want to splice into the power supply for the light, put a 1A diode in line and it will drop the voltage by .7v.

It takes them about 20 min and they fully shut off wierd cause my dome light shuts off when its suppose to it a 9 led panel

It takes 20 minutes because that's when the body control module shuts off the power to them, thinking you've left the lights on.
