Weekend Progress( mounts, lambos, bumper mod)
Saturday, February 26, 2005 5:19 PM
So I had alot to do this weekend when I went home. The first was motor mounts, man the bottom was a pain to get in until I figured out that i had a huge(3ft) clamp which i used to pull the engine back so the holes lined up.

Top mount was easier, had to rock the motor a little for it to line up.

Also installed the B&M Shiftplus, and soddered the connections. Nothing too interesting to see those pics.

Also during the winter someone decided to run into my back bumper which caused it to crack along a seam, so I cut it all off and rounded it out, little different look, little closer look to my Type J that will be going on soon.

As you can see, the lambos went on, took a good while to do, becuase during our wiring process we tried to use the clamps that came with it, and they were junk, so we ended up soddering everything there. After gettin them all lined up... here we go, so excited to have them on.

I will post pics of the instal later and will try to get better pics later on tomorrow hopefully the sun is out and i can get some good shots.

Leave comments, lots of other things in store soon, (drop for sure)

One thing that I was wondering, is the passenger side door a little farther out than the driver's side when they're up? Could just be the pics. Either way, it is rockin!

Brakes? I don't need no stinking brakes....I have air bags

Car looks sick, headlights look good but I dont know for some reason I think that with the cardon fiber hood that they would look better the stock black but still looks good nonetheless.

Someone already mentioned they gap above the front bumper. And is there supposed to be a 3rd brake light that goes in the pro-stock spoiler? It looks like there a place to put one. Car looks nice though, I love the Type J on the new cavies.

the drop is the next significant mod, i wanted to get through the winter first.

There is a slot for a 3rd brake light, when I first got it, I wasnt sure how to instal it so i didnt just start cuting away. When i get another weekend home, i will probbaly fix/instal it.

as for the back bumper, there was no alternative, it was cracked 5/6 of the way across right on that seam. it looked horrid not being fixed

the vibes are heafty for sure mine are the worst at 800-1k rpm on the accel. Outside of that they are manageable, just tried the shiftplus on level 2 today, man it hits hard, not anything that made me cringe, but i felt like I was actually in a car that had some get up and go.

And this morning when i was messing around with the car and stuff, i relized the reason taht hood wasnt lined up very well, the latch wasnt shut it was just resting on it with the pins connected, that fixed alot of alignment issues.
