the urge to learn.
i thought putting an oversized engine in a car that was designed for nothing bigger than a 4cyl was good.
ive basicly built a whole new car with about 140 usd.
also the j2000 was my first car purchased on my 18'th bday from my mother.
if you think thats bad, wait till i do a redneck weight reduction . then watch what i do to the rear interior of the car when i install my quads =p
i cant wait to have it running again, 130-150hp on about a ton will fly like a bat out of hell.

Al's no bull pickn' pull
if thats really the name of the junk yard then thats priceless!!!
yep, al's no bull pick n pull. located in osprey FL. thats the west coast.
ive actually pulled out very decent stuff from there, other then the shiney new radiator and fan, ive scored summit heads/headers .. stroker assemblies, and i cant count all the diffrent brand named carbs, and even a pair of rock crawler axles.
holly FI stuff ...
its endless...
anyways im on my lunch break trying to score tomorrow off so i cant go work on the little blue beast some more.
i mean this build could be worse right?
its not like im putting a cold air intake on it. buying more stickers then i can afford and dropping an exaust tip bigger then a hookers ass on labor day, then trying to brag about all my skill ...
lol i keep having dreams that im running it on the road wide open
2 days and counting untill i can work on it again
this guy is going to built up next if anyone is interested, ill post up pics of the progress as well.
Hell yeah man big props on the work accomplished so far. You're building yourself a pretty neat little J2k there.
As for the build, who cares what the naysayers think? It seems like you've got a good handle on what you're doing, and I like your style so more power to ya.
Keep kickin ass dude, I'll be following along for sure.
Damn not being premium and having the edit button... Al's No-Bull Pick & Pull is the greatest name I've ever heard for a junkyard. Someday if my plan to write for a car mag falls out I'm gonna start Kflo's No-Bull Pick & Pull.
kflo , your a good man.
those comments saved a j-body.
im on my way to go work on it right now, will have updates at the end of the day..
i just @!#$ up the radiator trying to fit the fan in
no biggy tho ill just go scout out another one and trade the fan in for 2 fuel lines and a power steering line.
will have updates tuesday.
Bummer man, don't kick yourself too hard, not much to do but go an get another like you said.
Can't wait for updates bud.
@!#$ not having an edit button again, how close is the engine to the radiator? You might almost have to mount the fan on the other side and wire it backwards so it pushes air instead of pulling air through.
Just a thought, rock on Dale.
i was considering that, but wasent sure if it worked.
thanks for clearing it up for me, thus i shal do.
if i want to upgrade the headers the fan will have to be on the outside. not much room at all
thanks again !!
just got back. lucked out with another new radiator and only traded my broke one in for it
the next post i make will be when its running .
thanks for the insperation everyone!
Keep it up bud, I'm waiting for more picture updates to see the latest progress!
lol srry for not sticking to my word. its not running yet.
however i have the engine secured <mounts> , the radiator is in and in one piece< no leaky>, and the fan tucked inside the front bumper as if they were made for eachother.
tomorrow comes a battery and fuel lines for the moment of truth.
wish me luck!
dale~

Awesome man, time to hook up some new pictures! Probably one of a handful if not the only 3100 powered J2000 in the world now. Pretty sweet to be able to say that.
How does she run?
it runs insain compared to the stock 1.8. yesterday i spun them really good in the rain out in my field and had to tap the brakes to get them to stop spinning lol. trying to get pics before i put it compleetley back together grill/hood. the second i get my hands on a camera there will be more pics/and or videos.
shouldent be much longer.
dale~
I really can't wait to see this thing finished!!! Looking at this thread and the whole work that your are doing yourself really inspired me.
As my winter project I will be doing the same thing as you, swapping a big engine in a small car.
Thanks and keep up the awesome work, every effort is really worth it as I can see.
pics are definate tomorrow.
factoryphreak, im glad to have inspired you.
the engine seems to be in place just fine, but as there are no rubber based mounts i am affraid to run it on the road too much.
when i got back from working on it yesterday my neighbor came out of the woods and offered me a chevy barracuda i think it was for 100 usd. should i snag that up as a next project? its ben through 3 floods.
updated pics are promiced tomorrow.
