Little update,

What was done today:

Got all the fluids drained today
Took wipers and cowel off to make room for my new location for the MSD coils
Fuel lines off
Turbo stuff off
Rest of the harness off

Next is to drain the massive auto fluid and unbutton lower suspension to get the motor and trans ready to pull.

ON AN EXCITING NOTE I FOUND A 2000 Z 5SPEED PARTS CAR that I desperately need to convert my car to 2k+ I pick the car up Sunday hopefully.

Stay tuned, pics to follow

Glad you found a donor car. That will make the swap easier, and solves your wireharness issue at the same time

Jason, your right, solves 2 issues. This guy seems legit and wants to get rid of it so I hope it all works out. I have a trailor lined up so I don't see why there should be an issue getting it Sunday.

Ill post pics of it when I get it.

Woo hoo, got the parts car today. I have it over Trey's house, some of you remember TRDcavfire.

The car has a good engine wiring harness, tranny and dash harness. So I will begin to strip the interior tomorrow after work. I will also make a list of parts to sell after I get what I need.

Pics tomorrow.

Don't forget that you are going to need to rewire the car headlights to tail lights. So don't forget to get the body harness all the way to the back aswell. And like I said in the pm, you will need the tank aswell.

Well that sucks about the headlights and tails. Seeing I wanted to keep my custom headlights. Anyway around that?

You should be able to wire the headlights to keep the 95-99 headlights.

Its not really that bad to change the harness head to tail. I did it a couple months ago and an quite pleased. Took me most of a day to strip the interior, pull out the old harness, put in the new harness and replace the interior. That was working by myself and being interupted by the wife and kids several times.

I didnt swap the tank yet, the harness is the same for the fuel assembly, just the resistance is off for the gauge. Now everytime I get to half I throw a CEL for high resistance.

If you dont have a custom dash, you will want to swap to the 00+ dash as well so the gauge cluster(yeah, you have to change that too) is a direct bolt in.

Remember to buy a new radio harness unless you cut plugs to install them. Everything in the doors is plug and play.

Center console will need to be changed to the 00+, obviously due to auto to manual swap.

Its a bit of work to do, but in the end its definately much better. You should flash the car to speed density and have it retuned to see what type of power gain you can get.

Now, get to work.
