The easiest thing for you to do to keep the 95-99 headlights is to track down a 03+ sunfire headlight harness. It plugs right into the 00-02 cav connector and has all the same functions of the 95-99 z24. All you will have to do is splice in the connectors from the 95-99 lights.

Nice, thanks Darren, I was hoping youd say 03+ cavy headlight harness seeing there are 3 of those in the yard right now.

Its not really that bad to change the harness head to tail. I did it a couple months ago and an quite pleased. Took me most of a day to strip the interior, pull out the old harness, put in the new harness and replace the interior. That was working by myself and being interupted by the wife and kids several times.

I didnt swap the tank yet, the harness is the same for the fuel assembly, just the resistance is off for the gauge. Now everytime I get to half I throw a CEL for high resistance. .

Will I have an issues if I just swapped in a 00+ tank into a 95-99??

Center console will need to be changed to the 00+, obviously due to auto to manual swap.

Now, get to work.

Will the console just bolt in, or are there brackets to take off of the donor car??

running the 95-99 headlights on a 00 harness is not hard. Just splice at the headlight sockets is all.

I believe the 00 harness/lights share a power and use 2 grounds, one for low and one for high.

For the console there is a bracket by the ebrake that needs to be pulled from the donor car. The bracket near the front of the console also needs to be used but I believe.it needs to be modified. I personally didn't use it.

I'm not sure how well a 95-99 tune will work with the 00+ ecu.

For the gas tank, if you use the 00+ fuel pump assembly in the 95-99 you will have gauge issues. If you swapped the 95-99 assembly into the 00+ tank you should be good.

it doesn't need to be modified. I have the front bracket holding strong right now with the Isuzu shifter.

I need a new sig.

Why would he use the 95-99 pump when he is using the 2000+ cluster? The fuel gauge wouldn't function properly like that.

Darren I think he is refering to Jason. Jason wants to use a plastic tank for his 99 cavy.

Here is the parts car, me and Trey got started on it today. Pulled the engine wiring harness, labeled everything and I brought it home. Next step is to unloom and cut off what I do not need, then re-loom.
Next time I get to the car, I will start pulling the engine and trans, then work on the interior harnesses.

David, the good thing about this car is that it looks like it has power options, not sure if it does for sure or not, but if it does, swap everything over to your car and you can have power windows and locks.

Darren, yup the car is loaded, even with a sunroof.

It looks like I am going to get rid of my shaved doors and get some regular doors back, the shaved door wiring I just found out in my car is tied to all my amp wiring, wtf! So, its got to go.

Gotta question, reading Lenkos auto to manual swap he has the following listed in the parts needed.

"6 Clutch cover to Flywheel bolts w/ lock washers "

Are these just any bolts from the hardware store? Also what size, thread, and grade should they be?

THX
