I have a 98 Cav. 2.2/4spd. And It has never gone into closed loop, and a lot of other things that lead me to changing the ecu to fix it. Because all of the Variables were met for it to go into closed loop.
So I finally got around to changing my ECU's, I got 3 016's from a friend that came out of j-bodys(2 sun, 1 Cav). The Cavalier was dead because it kept popping the power fuse, so I then tried the sunfire ecu's. And once I reset the passlock and let them for .5hr learn the parameters and fuel maps. I then went to go test drive them, they worked great in Park, reverse, and neutral. But as soon as I put them in a forward gear, Its like it applied the TCC and kept killing the engine(I tried a half dozen times, in all forward gears). So Im guessing that both of my sunfire ecu's are for 3 spd cars and its freaking out, But has anyone else here ran into this befor?
