As good as eBay ones maybe, and maybe from far away then might look alright. <br>

WB: front part of the kit looks pretty good, but i think the regular "evil eyes" looks better for the eyelids.

For people that fiberglassed their eyelids

What did you pay to have it done, not painted, just get the eyelids fiberglassed in?

The guy doin my car now says it's gonna be 5 hours a side, so 10 hours total. And that comes out to like $400-500!! That don't seem right, someone help me out, I am kind of deployed right now otherwise I would do this myself.

Thanks

Umm, I said fiberglass b/c I have a fiberglass hood

I know it's waaay too much Ben. But I want the car painted and I won't be leaving here until after May. How much should it be, just give me an estimate, I know it wouldn't take 10 hours to add eyelids to a friggin hood.

Is it hard to do? I have a little bit of fiberglass experience, but I am no expert.

Ugghhh, I am so frustrated right now. This guy does awesome work, but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it all

what is it with all the sunfire kits having big open "mouths"??? i think it looks like the bomex... do something more simple and clean, we've got enough of "out there" kits.....

...yes, i understand...however, the number of kits that have the open mouth part is MUCH more than the number of boosted fires.

I don't know what would be a good price. I'm fiber glassing my trunk right now and I've also so done some fiberglass work. I would say to do it yourself LowFire. Even though you say your pressed for time you could easily get it done in one weekend without a lot of work, in my opinion, I've never done any though. That 400-500 price is , it'll cost you almost nothing to do them, all you need is a good sander, resign, matt and patience to do some sanding. Where is everyone buying the eyelids any way are they fiberglass or metal? I have a fiberglass hood and I don't think they would hold to well if they were metal.

I still love the look when a Sunfire does this. I remember when I did mine way back when....I loved how much it changed the whole look of the car......

GreenFire - They can be done on a Carbon Fiber hood.....Check out Vince's Sunfire.....He did them on the AeroGear hood and they look flawless

at TOP pay $200. and thats still a high price IMO

and as an idea.....why not buy the metal eyelids and bring those to the shop. have the shop use them as a template and glass over them. that should seriously cut down on the time. i mean think about it....it would seriously take 5 minutes to attach the metal lids and then it would be another 30 minutes to put glass over it. let it dry and sand, fill, sand, etc. not much work there.

drew: if lowfire doesnt want them, how much do you want?

joe: i think the older rk front with cunards is by far the BEST front to have with the sunfire eyes. looks so sick

Does anybody else know where I could get metal eyelids really quick if Derek can't come through for me. I need them this week.

Thanks for your help everyone.

I can't find them anywhere! My stock 01 sunfire hood is metal, right?

Re: Sunfire Eyelids

my sister crashed my car last summer and messed up the fender and a little paint off the hood. as a result, i had to have a body shop fix the fender and repait the hood. since they were already fixing the fender, and the hood already had to be repainted anyways, i told them to do the evil eyes for me too. i already had vinyl ones on there so he used that as a template. he only charged me 30 bucks extra on top of the 120 he was charging me so it was 150 total. 200 for JUSt the evil eyes is real expensive i'd say.

i know the car is dirty, but here ya go.
